Beloved Artist, Teacher, Mentor, and Friend of ART VallARTa

With heavy hearts and deep appreciation, we remember *Carol Anne Anderson*, who for over 11 years was an integral and beloved part of the ART VallARTa family. Carol Anne was not only a gifted teacher but a brilliant artist whose creativity, compassion, and unwavering positivity touched the lives of all who knew her.

Carol Anne was a true artist’s artist — equally comfortable fusing glass, creating intricate mosaics, painting on silk, experimenting with poured acrylics, or teaching the delicate techniques of Shibori dyeing. Her hands were never still; her imagination never at rest. Every medium she explored became a new way to express beauty, joy, and curiosity — and she shared these gifts generously.

Her classroom at ART VallARTa was a sanctuary for discovery. Most of her students were adults between the ages of 40 and 80 — many who hadn’t picked up a paintbrush in decades, or ever. Under Carol Anne’s gentle and joyful guidance, they bloomed. She had a magical ability to awaken creativity in those who thought they had none, and to instill confidence in those just beginning to explore their talents. Her patience was infinite. Her encouragement sincere. Her belief in others absolute.

When she wasn’t teaching in Puerto Vallarta, Carol Anne returned to her home in Washington State or spent summers teaching and sharing her artistic talents at *Creative Arts Camps* for middle and high school students. She poured the same passion and positivity into those programs as she did with every class at ART VallARTa — nurturing young artists, helping them find their voices, and encouraging them to embrace their creative spirits fully and freely.

Above all, Carol Anne was a radiant soul. Probably the most positive, thoughtful person we have ever had the privilege to know. Her kindness, her warm smile, and her heartfelt interest in everyone she met made the world feel more hopeful, more beautiful, and more connected.

Carol Anne’s passing leaves a space that can never be filled — but her legacy lives on in the vibrant artwork created by her students, the confidence she nurtured in others, and the enduring love she gave to our community. We are better because she was part of us.

Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones during this time. We are forever grateful to have walked alongside her.
