Inspired by antique carved wooden doors in San Miguel de Allende Mexico, this vase evokes the richness of the Spanish Colonial architecture. The vase was first formed with layers of coiled clay which was then smoothed and burnished, an arduous process. The pattern is then meticulously carved into the surface. The body of the vase is glazed in a rich green gloss to contrast with the raw clay finish at the top, framing the design. A special piece, this vase will hold water for a large floral arrangement or stands alone beautifully as a feature piece.
